Opportunity for an experienced data modeller or architect to join an exciting early-stage PropTech start-up based in central London

At PRODA , we are harnessing the power of machine learning to solve core data processing pain points in the real estate industry. We believe that unstructured data is a key barrier to digital transformation in this space.

Our software automates property data capture and standardisation. This enhances the efficiency of analysis and reporting tasks for real estate professionals, and helps them to unlock the true value of their data.

The role

Our commercial real estate data team is looking for a Data Architect to help define and build a crucial part of the business. This role is for an experienced data modeller or architect to create new ontologies and schemas to describe real estate data for clients, software engineers, and machine-learning models.

This is a critical role in a fast-growing company that comes with much potential for growth as the project matures. We are seeking a creative, energetic and hard-working individual with experience (from either academic studies or industry practice) in database schema design or semantic modelling. You will work as part as a cross-functional team with the guidance of the Co-Founders and the Chief Technology Officer, and gain knowledge of machine learning, commercial real estate, and software engineering.

  • This is a permanent, full-time role. The core hours are 9AM–6PM Monday–Friday.
  • Salary: £40-55k p/a + equity options, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Data modelling: Creating ontologies and schemas for commercial real estate data. This involves classifying and categorising property data and managing the model’s rules and business logic.
  • Hands-on data labelling, extraction and analysis.
  • Product development: formulate new ways by working closely with the source data to improve the data model.
  • Analyse large sets of data to spot key patterns and develop new features for machine learning algorithms and logic for data standardisation rules.
  • Client relations: liaise directly with real estate and PropTech companies who are using PRODA. Support them and use their feedback to set priorities for the product development pipeline.

Skills and experience

  • 3yrs + work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role or relevant advanced degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modelling and relational database design.
  • Experience gathering and analysing system requirements
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Familiarity with data modelling methodologies such as OWL, entity-relationship modelling, and semantic data modelling.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative and flexible problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm to work as part of a small start-up team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working directly with clients.
